Limelight Networks Rejects $645M Buyout Offer

Categories

Limelight Networks (LLNW) has rejected the suspicious $645M buyout offer from the private equity firm Tuition Build Inc. According to LLNW, Tuition Build “does not have the experience, credentials, financial resources or capability to complete the proposed transaction”. In another words, Tuition Build Inc. was bluffing, and Goldman Sachs called the bluff. LLNW should not sell out to any private equity firm, as none have the experience of running a global CDN. There are only two companies in the world that can pull off a LLNW acquisition, and make it successful, Akamai and Level 3. However, since Level 3 is now tied up with the TW Telecom acquisition, Akamai is the only company that can buy, and operate LLNW successfully.
