Akamai vs Zscaler – finally we have two cool companies who’ll be going into hand-to-hand combat starting in 2016, as the once two separate market segments collapse into each other – Cloud Security and CDN. In acquiring Bloxx, Akamai spoke load and clearly that its getting into the security segment, which happens to be significantly larger than the CDN market. Akamai brings a global CDN to the fight, and Zscaler brings its extensive security feature set and 15M users to the table. Chapter 2 of the Edge Security business starts en mass in 2016.
