PerimeterX Explodes Out of Stealth Mode with the Bot Defender

Categories

PerimeterX, a security based startup has just come out of stealth mode. They have developed a security service called the PerimeterX Bot Defender that protects online companies from automated attacks, including bot attacks, DDoS attacks, zero-days threats, brute force, price scraping, and more. They take a different approach to securing websites, mobile sites and web applications – instead of using the traditional WAF that relies on a IP reputation database, PerimeterX mitigates attacks using a Behavioral Fingerprinting Browser-based technology.

This has to be the most innovative invention in website security to date, because it shifts mitigation from the middle mile to last mile, or the browser to be more precise. The best part of their business model – they don’t compete with CDNs. The PerimeterX value proposition is resonating strongly with customers around the world, in that they are now protecting more 1B pages per week, even though they were in stealth mode. More to come.
