Vimmi, a next generation provider of distributed video delivery network platforms, has announced that it is integrating V-Nova PERSEUS video compression technology into its online video platform (OVP). V-Nova Ltd., which has partnered with Vimmi, is a global software IP company that specializes in delivering video and data encoding solutions. The joint solution is slated to launch at the upcoming IBC in Amsterdam.
V-Nova PERSEUS is a video compression technology that empowers operators and service providers to distribute high quality live and on-demand video in a bandwidth efficient manner, and integrates with third-party encoders and players via a software development kit.
One of the major benefits of integrating PERSEUS into Vimmi OVP is that it enables an end-to-end platform solution. Moreover, the companies note that PERSEUS compression technology, working in concert with Vimmi’s edge processing and machine learning CDN architecture, can enable a significant reduction in video delivery costs. Finally, the pre-integration of PERSEUS into an all-inclusive modular OTT workflow expedites deployment of online video services, enabling launches within a matter of days.
The pre-integrated OTT workflow includes transcoding, content management (CMS), subscriber management (SMS), billing, CDN, DRM, nDVR, HTML5 video player, STB and mobile applications.
